Our Mission

As an Early Start vendor for San Andreas Regional Center, Kidstream LLC is committed to providing high quality, innovative and effective early intervention services to our youngest and most vulnerable children and their families in their homes in Santa Clara County. Our multi-disciplinary group of independent practitioners include pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists and developmental specialists. We share a mission to work collaboratively with each other and the Early Start community to help young children and their families thrive by using evidence-based developmental knowledge and practices that are family-centered and grounded in the joyfulness of play.

Goals

Kidstream is dedicated to helping children with special needs achieve developmental goals by seeing and honoring the Child First, and by teaching and modeling evidence-based developmental practices through playful interactions that promote healthy social and emotional connections. Kidstream also offers family coaching and education that is uniquely tailored to each child and which strives to empower caregivers and family members to advocate for the needs of their child and family. Guided by the Individual Family Service Plan, Kidstream uses evidence-based strategies, family-centered resources and up-to-date knowledge about child development to help our children achieve their developmental milestones while maintaining a joyful quality of life.

From my first phone call with Feng, I knew we lucked out with our Early Intervention Specialist.  She reassured me that a speech delay is one of the most common issues she handles with the children she works with.  As a first-time mom during the first pandemic lockdown, her words let me breathe a sigh of relief.  During our first few months over Zoom I was amazed at how easily Feng interacted and engaged with my son.  After a few sessions, my son was excited to see his new friend Feng on the iPad.  Over the weeks and months that passed, Feng listened to us closely as parents and identified my son's sensory processing issues while filling our toolkit to bring out my son's speech.  The first time Feng came to our house, it felt like a family member we hadn't seen in a long time that came to visit.  From then, my son's speech exploded.  Feng is more than an Early Intervention Specialist.  She teaches parents how to navigate parenting all-around.  For our family, she helped with sleep issues, feeding responsibilities, how to handle 'big emotions' and provided the tools we needed to draw out my son's speech.  We are SO thankful to have crossed paths with Feng.  It's been a bitter-sweet goodbye, but we will always be thankful for Julians' very first teacher.

My family is truly thankful we have crossed paths with Feng. Feng has been working with my autistic daughter for almost one year. Feng makes a therapy session look so easy because she is innately great with kids. Feng is very responsive to my daughter’s likes and dislikes and is constantly adapting and using her creativity to create a game/activity that will capture my daughter’s attention and be a functional learning experience. Most importantly, Feng cares about my daughter and our family. When our child was initially diagnosed, we felt that our world was falling apart. There’s a lot of uncertainties and fear as to what is in store for our child’s future. Having Early Intervention services, and specifically Feng as our Developmental Specialist, have helped us in so many ways. Feng is such a natural and very knowledgeable. She is an expert in her own right (and I don’t say this lightly as I am an Occupational Therapist myself). Feng has a gentle approach, yet very effective. I have had the great pleasure of working with Feng for over 4 years now. We met through the Regional Center where Feng was assigned as the early interventionist for my son, who at the time was 6 months old with multiple disabilities including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, sensory processing impairment, and severe developmental delay. When Feng enters any room, she brings with her an incredibly, positive and bubbly effervescence. You can tell that she loves what she does for a living. She creates an instant rapport with her clients through her warm and joyful disposition. For a parent struggling with a child with disabilities and not knowing what to do or where to start, her presence is a rainbow of encouragement and strength. One of her greatest attributes is her ability to establish trust with the child. This is no simple task with all the internal and external barriers the child may exhibit. Feng is consistent in her practice and will break down steps to get to the child’s level and once that relationship is built, that’s when the magic happens. Feng is like an orchestra conductor who helps organize the notes and beats of a child’s (development) drum until they both reach harmony. With that harmony, my son and I were able to learn how to be the best we could be. Feng did not only teach my son. She became my teacher as well as my greatest supporter and I am truly grateful for the experience. I endorse Feng for her amazing talent and professionalism.

Ms. Feng is phenomenal. She has been such a lucky charm in our family’s life. Ever since she walked into our home for the first time, my child is cheerier and has been improving in her communication each day. What makes her special is her passion to understand each child, their family, and the nuances of their life set up. She takes so much passion and pride in her work, and her attention to our child and her behaviour is amazing. She can almost predict what your child will do next, and she can adjust her activities and engagement to really help the child open up. Our daughter has shown great improvement with her words and sentences all coming together like magic. We have also used Ms. Feng's wonderful advice on fixing several other issues with our kids around sensorial experiences, sleep routines, good food habits and potty training. Ms. Feng has become part of our family and even though our daughter has improved and caught up with her age, she still craves to meet her every single week.
